Terms and Conditions

1. Interpretation and Variation
1.1. These Terms and Conditions (“T&Cs”) govern membership of J Club (the “Club”), and set out the rights and obligations if each (“Member”). These T&Cs supersede and replace any previous terms and conditions governing membership.
1.2. The Club may add to, amend, or revoke these T&Cs at its discretion. Changes will be notified to Members and will become binding upon notice unless expressly revoked.
1.3. These T&Cs shall be governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
1.4. The Club has established a Membership Committee (“Committee”) responsible for reviewing, approving, renewing, or declining membership applications at its absolute discretion. The Committee's decisions are final and binding, and members acknowledge that approval is subject to this review process.
2. Membership
2.1. Membership or day guest access is granted at the discretion of the Club Management. The Club may refuse membership or access at any time without explanation.
2.2. Memberships are granted for a 12-month period and are non-refundable. Memberships are non‑transferable. In exceptional cases, the Club may, in its absolute discretion, approve one transfer per membership year.
2.3. Renewals are subject to review and approval by J Club Management. Membership must be renewed prior to its expiration date. Failure to renew prior to expiration will result in the Member being treated as a new applicant, subject to the standard application process and possible placement on a waiting list.
2.4. Members are advised they are obliged to read the rules and regulations on joining the J Club and that by activating a membership they have agreed and accepted these T&Cs.
2.5. The Club reserves the right to terminate any membership for breach of the rules or conduct which, in the Club's reasonable discretion, is damaging to the character or interests of the J Club or offensive to other members or staff of the Club.
2.6. Use of a membership card or Mobile App by any person other than the registered Member will result in cancellation of membership and forfeiture of fees.
2.7. Members are advised to carry their membership card or Mobile App with them when entering the hotel and present it to enter the Club. Failure to produce a valid membership card or Mobile App may result in refusal of entry. Membership cards are only valid for the holder of the membership and are not transferable. Pets are not allowed in the Club.
2.8. Caregivers, such as nannies, must be registered to receive a complimentary nanny card for the first nanny linked to a family membership or a couple membership with an add-on child. Any second or subsequent nannies will be charged the daily guest rate. Proof of employment as a caregiver must be provided to complete the enrollment.
2.9. Club management reserves the right to review and adjust fees at its discretion without prior written notice.
2.10. Members and their guests must, at all times, treat all Club staff with the utmost respect and shall not engage in any behaviour causing distress. The Club operates a zero-tolerance policy towards abusive behaviour towards any staff, which may lead to immediate removal from J Club premises. The Club reserves the right to refuse renewal of any membership at its discretion, without providing reasons.
2.11. To enroll in a couples membership, the member must provide legal proof of the relationship at the time of signing up, which may include a marriage certificate, valid identification showing the sponsor’s name (such as a passport, Emirates ID, or visa), or address verification like a utility bill or lease agreement as proof of living at the same address.Same-gender couples may only enroll in a couples membership if they can provide valid legal documentation identifying their relationship.
3. Acceptance, Renewal and Commencement of Membership
3.1. Acceptance of an application for membership is at the absolute discretion of the Membership Committee. Only upon approval by the Committee, and after the applicant has signed the T&Cs and submitted the signed membership agreement, will the applicant become a member of J Club.
3.2. Failure to use the Club’s facilities does not eliminate your obligation to pay all the membership fees promptly as per these terms and conditions.
3.3. Payment of the membership fee entitles you to the use J Club facilities during opening hours, in accordance with your membership type.
3.4. Membership renewal must be completed on or before the expiry date. Memberships not renewed by the expiry date will lapse, be placed on the waiting list ,Placement on the waiting list does not guarantee renewal or re-entry and any reinstatement will be subject to Committee approval and availability.
3.5. New members and rejoiners, when approved by the Club, will be subject to a non-refundable joining fee of AED 10,000 for Lifestyle membership and AED 2,500 for Fitness membership.
3.6. J Club management reserves the right to refuse renewal or expel any membership at any location, upon expiry of the current term.
3.7. Failure to make timely payment may result in suspension of access until dues are cleared
4. Cancellation and Termination
4.1. Memberships are non-refundable and will automatically expire after the paid contract term.
4.2. Members with outstanding sums due to the Club, will not be permitted to re-join or reinstate membership until all dues are settled.
4.3. The Club reserves the right to expel, suspend or refuse renewal of any membership whose conduct, in the Club's reasonable opinion, is injurious to the character of the Club or breaches these T&Cs. Expelled members forfeit all membership privileges and any pro-rata refund.
4.4. Management reserves the right to terminate any Club membership with immediate effect, with no refund applied, and rejoining the Club will be subject to management review.
4.5. In the event a Member utilizes any service or facility not included in their membership, the Club may cancel the membership with immediate effect, with no refund and any rejoining will be subject to management review.
5. Limitation of Liability
5.1 The Club cannot be held responsible for any services or equipment not being available for whatever reason. The Club reserves the right to make alterations to the type of facilities provided, without notice and in its absolute discretion and the Club shall not be liable for any loss occasioned by such alterations, except in so far as such loss is by law incapable of exclusion.
5.2 Members must ensure they are physically fit for any exercise or programs attended and are advised to consult a doctor beforehand.
5.3 The Club accepts no liability for loss or damage to property or cars of Members or guests on premises or in the car park. Cars are left in the car park at the owner’s risk.
5.4 Pregnant members are advised to consult a physician before engaging in physical activity.
5.5 If the Club closes due to reasons beyond its control. Annual memberships will be extended for the closure duration and monthly membership payments will be frozen until reopening subject to management approval. Any approved suspension period will be added to the membership term immediately following the original contract expiry date.
6. Membership Access
6.1 Upon acceptance, Members receive a digital or physical membership card which remains the property of J Club and entitles them to associated benefits.
6.2 Members must produce their membership card at access control points for health and safety.
6.3 Only those with active Club membership and hotel residents can use Club and/or hotel facilities.
6.4 Fitness membership grants access limited to gym, group classes, and pool at Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Jumeirah Mina A’ Salam.
6.5 Lifestyle membership grants unlimited access to Jumeirah Mina A’ Salam (excluding Celeste & Calavista pools) and Al Qasr and Jumeirah Beach Hotel (excluding Executive pool).
7. Guests of Members
7.1 Members are responsible for their guests’ conduct and ensuring compliance with T&Cs and Club rules.
7.2 Guest admission is at the Club’s discretion. Each membership allows a maximum of four (4) guests per day, either through the use of a guest pass or by purchasing daily access.
7.3 An admission fee for a Member's guest is charged and payable on entry to the beach lobby for each adult and child (2-15 years old). Payment of the admission fee will be the responsibility of the Member who authorizes the guest to attend the Club.
7.4 Members must accompany their guests into the Club presenting the physical valid complimentary pass. Guests are only permitted to remain while the Member is present.
8. General
8.1 The Club may accept or refuse any membership application or renewal without explanation.
8.2 Members or guests under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or mood-altering substances may not use Club facilities.
8.3 The Club operates a strict no smoking policy on Club premises.
8.4 Members shall not publish, post, or distribute defamatory statements about J Club, its management, or staff in any medium. Breach of this clause may result in termination
9. Food and beverage
9.1 Food and beverage may not be brought into the Club from outside the hotel.
9.2 J Club members can redeem discounts at participating Jumeirah eateries. Discounts vary depending on membership type and permit the members to avail a discount for up to maximum four guests. Refer to www.thejClub.com for the list of particpating outlets. F&B locations are subject to change without prior notice. The members' discount does not apply to any of the children's menus as these menus are already discounted by fifty percent (50%) on the regular price. Membership cards or Mobile App must be presented to avail the discount. Children aged 2-15 years old are eligible for the children’s menu.
10. Restrictions
10.1 Activities or equipment that may cause disturbance or pose a safety risk, such as bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades, and similar items, are not permitted within Club premises.
10.2 Media playing devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptops must be used considerately, with all audio played through headphones.
10.3 Members must not use any hotel or Club facilities if they have contagious illnesses, infections, open wounds, or any condition that may pose a health risk or discomfort to other members.
10.4 Photography and videography are strictly prohibited on the gym floor, changing rooms and in studios to respect the privacy and comfort of all members.
11. Data protection
11.1 Club is committed to protecting and respecting the privacy of its members and guests. We collect, use, and disclose personal data of our members and guests in accordance with applicable data privacy laws, and for the purpose of membership activation and maintenance, and for improving our customer service. We have implemented technological and operational security measures to protect personal data from loss, misuse, alteration or destruction. 12. Club opening times
12.1 The Club is open daily for members and guests between 06:00 and 22:00 daily. Opening hours may be varied and parts of the facility closed with reasonable notice where practicable for maintenance, events, or safety. Opening hours on official holidays are at the discretion of management.
12.2 The Club and/or hotel reserves the right to close the facility or parts of the facility for repairs or refurbishments, providing adequate notice.
13. Junior members (where applicable)
13.1 Junior members or guests under 16 years of age are generally not permitted to use indoor recreational facilities such as the spa, sauna, steam room, solarium, gym, and outdoor functional fitness areas.
13.2 Exceptionally, junior members may access these facilities when participating in supervised family events or personal training sessions organized and approved by the Club.
13.3 Junior members under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult to access the Club and are not allowed to use the gym independently.
13.4 For security and safety, only J Club members may access the Kids Club for dropping off or collecting junior members/guests. Parents or guardians are responsible for the behaviour and safety of junior members, ensuring those under five years old do not use the pool or swim in the sea without adult supervision.
13.5 Junior members under 16 years of age are not permitted to use steam rooms, jacuzzis, plunge pools, or other spa facilities unless specifically allowed during supervised activities.
14. Gym and fitness facilities
14.1 All members must complete a pre-exercise questionnaire and undergo an initial induction session before using the gym or studio equipment. Members and guests are advised not to undertake strenuous physical activities without first seeking medical advice if they have concerns over their physical condition.
14.2 The Club reserves the right to refuse access to the gym and fitness facilities to any member or guest if, in its discretion, it considers that the health of the individual concerned may be endangered by the use of such facilities.
14.3 Members and their guests must notify the Club of any circumstances affecting their health which may be exacerbated through continued use of the gym or fitness facilities.
14.4 If unsure, members and their guests should not use any piece of gym equipment without prior instruction. Members and guests should ask a member of the Club's gym team how to use new or unfamiliar equipment. The Club will not be liable for injuries caused by incorrect use of the same.
14.5 Access to the exercise studios is limited to classes or pre-organized sessions. Details of these will be posted on Club notice boards and will be available from the Club's reception.
14.6 Members and guests using the gym must always carry a training towel for the purpose of wiping down equipment after use. Only non-marking training shoes will be allowed within the gym, fitness studio or squash court. Members are requested to always wear tops.
14.7 Members are not permitted to bring personal trainers into the gym or any other part of the facility such as courts, lap pools and studios.
14.8 The Club may, at its discretion, introduce or remove equipment or classes to maintain quality standards
15. Facility bookings
15.1 Advance bookings may be made for certain facilities at the Club. All bookings must be confirmed on arrival, no later than fifteen (15) minutes prior to the booked time; otherwise, they will be released to the waiting list or general availability.
15.2 Seven (7) days’ advance bookings may be made via the Mobile App. Only one squash,tennis, padel or table tennis court booking is allowed per day, per family membership. Members are not allowed to bring any personal coaches.
15.3 Facility and class fees, where applicable, must be paid before use of the relevant facility, as directed by the Club. Members are not allowed to bring any personal coaches and/or trainers.
16. Tournaments/ social activities
16.1 The Club may at any time, without prior notice set aside facilities.
17. Swimming pool
17.1 The Club requests that all members and their guests observe the following:
a. No running, jumping, or diving is allowed in any of the pool areas.
b. For reasons of health and hygiene it is necessary for all members and guests to shower before entering the pool.
c. No balls, floats, inflatables, masks, snorkels, or fins are permitted in the pool areas other than those provided by the Club.
d. Radios, lilos and anything which the Club, in its discretion, considers detrimental to the use of the pool areas are not permitted. Members and guests are requested to wear conventional swim wear adhering to local customs.
17.2 The pool areas may from time to time be reserved for adults only, swimmers only, lessons or children’s parties.
17.3 Children under the age of 16 years must be supervised by an adult (aged 18 years and over) when using the pool.
17.4 Toddlers must always be accompanied in the pool by the parent or guardian.
17.5 Swimming nappies are mandatory for children aged four (4) years and under. Failure to comply with this rule will result in refusal of pool entry by Club management.
18. Saunas, steam rooms, snow room
18.1 Members and guests with the following conditions should not use the sauna, steam and snow rooms: low or high blood pressure, cardiac irregularities, asthma and pregnancy. Those members who suffer from diabetes, heart disease or skin disorders should consult a doctor first.
18.2 Neither the Club nor the hotel accepts any liability for any consequential injuries or illnesses. If there is any doubt, the member or guest should consult his/her doctor.
18.3 Members and guests must shower before and after using the sauna, steam and snow rooms. Swimming costumes must be worn in the communal sauna, steam and snow rooms. For safety reasons no person should spend more than fifteen (15) minutes in a sauna, steam or snow rooms. Shaving or use of soap or hair products is strictly prohibited in the saunas, steam and snow rooms.
Users are advised to drink plenty of water whilst using the sauna, steam and snow rooms.
18.4 Members and guests shall not use the sauna, steam and snow rooms while under the influence of alcohol, antihistamines, beta blockers, narcotics, or tranquilizers.
18.5 Drying clothing or footwear in the sauna is strictly prohibited.
19. Lockers
19.1 Personal belongings are brought onto the Club and hotel premises at the member's own risk and the hotel and/or Club do not accept liability for any loss or damage to such items. For security reasons members and guests are advised to store personal belongings and valuables in the lockers provided. Perishable or unhygienic items will be disposed of immediately
19.2 Members and guests are required to remove all personal belongings from the lockers after their activity. The Club may remove personal belongings that are left in the lockers at the end of each day. Unclaimed property shall be kept by the hotel security for a period of one month, after which Club management reserves the right to dispose of the items at its discretion. Clothing and other similar items will be disposed of, however, any items of value will be sold periodically and all proceeds donated to the nominated charity of the Club/hotel's choice and no claims shall be entertained after this period from members or guests.
20. Dress code
20.1 All members, junior members, and guests are required to modestly and appropriately dressed when on Club and hotel premises.
20.2 Members should remain modestly and appropriately always dressed throughout the Club facilities, including in the sauna, steam rooms, snow rooms and changing areas.
20.3 Nudity is strictly not permitted, and members are requested to use the private changing cubicles provided.
20.4 Appropriate sports footwear must be worn at all times in gym and wellness areas
21. Group Class Attendance
21.1 Members must arrive at least five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled start time of any group exercise class. Late arrivals may be refused entry.
21.2 For health and safety reasons, entry to group classes is not permitted more than five (5) minutes after the class has started. This is to ensure a safe and uninterrupted experience for all participants.
21.3 Group class bookings must be made in advance through the J Club app, with bookings available up to seven (7) days prior to the class date.
21.4 Failure to attend two (2) consecutive booked classes without cancellation will result in a seven (7) day suspension of group class booking privileges.
21.5 These conditions are in place to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment of all members participating in group exercise sessions.
21.5 Members must follow the instructor’s directions at all times during a class. Disruptive behaviour may result in removal from the session
